IS IT FAIR? Do all students have the required background knowledge to enable a fair assessment? This study of NAPLAN results when questions were made more culturally relevant gives pause for thought. Using the ideas from the workshops by Professor Jim Tognolini, Measuring What We Value, the staff of Granville East PS developed an assessment rubric for "deep thinking". They have trialled its use to add value to their assessment suite ​measuring_what_we_value_session_2.pdf

EXPLORING OUR ASSESSMENT DILEMMAS

To shed light on our dilemmas we could gather data to understand the multiple perspectives our school community has on it. The first document consists of extracts from "Street Data: A Next-Generation Model for Equity, Pedagogy and School Transformation.
