Leading Curriculum

PROFESSIONAL READINGS TO COMPLEMENT THE NEW NSW SYLLABUS DOCUMENTS

Leading curriculum is an essential role for school leaders. What should your school's priorities be?  The Melbourne Declaration is now 10 years old. Is it still relevant? Or should it be reviewed to include other priorities such as those from the OECD's "The Future We Want?"  How do you ensure that students receive a well-rounded education, whilst still making sure the fundamentals are in place? What are the big ideas and key concepts that must be prioritised? How do we ensure that the development of thinking skills goes hand in hand with the development of knowledge? And how do you bring about real change to the enacted curriculum in your classrooms?
